4 and Counting

The big news from the last post is Landon's 4th birthday. The biggest part of him growing is his imagination. There is a pretend world in everything he does. Its either dinosaurs chasing, cars racing, a trip into outer space, boats sinking, or some other crazy idea he just came up with.

The birthday party was a racing theme.

He had a blast with a bunch of his friends and a collection of new cars to ogle. We bought a party kit and it had a head cut out banner so you could be a race car driver.

We also had an awesome Easter once again thanks to Lisa Sims and the weather controllers. Landon got to run around collecting eggs with his friends in a huge backyard on a perfect day.

And his Easter Sunday best:

Then there are the everyday moments that make me wish I had a camera all the time. Like when he takes every big truck he has and crashes them and then is exceptionally proud to show off the wreckage.

Hopefully I will remember to take more pictures in the future. I have strayed away from the photo bug lately. I'll try to find it again.

Little Trooper

This is going to be a big post because I have been a big slacker. The good news is that I have finished editing all the videos and will have links posted here.

Landon is becoming a big goofy boy (Today he informed he won't be taking any more pictures of Mogli, because "He WON'T say cheeze!"). His silly games, crazy imagination and humor were a huge part in carrying this family the past couple weeks. It is almost inevitable that spending time with him will result in a smile and a laugh. He plays well with others, shares willingly, is always wanting to help with any chore and loves to create entire new worlds with his friends. Just by being himself he takes the weight of life from those around him. I can't image the past few weeks without him.

He also go to go to a bunch of parties!

One of his favorite things to do is cook with Mom. He has been doing this since he could hold a spatula. He keeps getting better at it and has recently become a valued pourer and stirrer of things. He tries to help me on the computer but it is not quite as effective yet.

CHRISTMAS: So its granted that any 3 year old is going to love Christmas and this one is no exception. Vicki got him a Christmas tree train that just added to his love of the Christmas tree (compete photos: 2009 Christmas).

And now for the movies:

Wii Bowling

Golfing (he obviously has been playing with and learning from grandpa)

Surfs Up

Spinning

Ducks with Kate

First Time Bowling (real bowling with Ava)

Water Slide

Obstacle Course

Ornament Hanging

So that catches me up. Hopefully I'll get some more stuff out on time in the future, but I wouldn't count on it.

Stay Warm.

Vacation and Stuff

Here is the latest family shot (more of these later):

From 2009_FamilyPhotos

We made our annual visit to Pymatuning Lake in Pennsylvania and had a nice relaxing vacation. Unfortunately Vicki could not go and now Landon might not want her on any more vacations. Dad might have been a little lax on the rules and let him eat ice cream. Which it turns out he LOVES, but probably shouldn't have!

We also had some family photos done (which is where the top photo came from). We took them at Jefferson City in the area right around the capitol building.

Buzz

Landon has a habit of twirling his hair around his finger, pulling on it and repeating when he's tired. He eventually twirled a bald spot on his head, so we had to do something about it. Introducing buzzed Landon.

Vicki's sister, Julie, got married and we had a little vacation down in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

Landon also completed his first complete nine holes of golf. He only played for about 5 but didn't mind the rest of the round and had fun the whole time.

That gets me pretty much caught up, time to appreciate some air conditioning!

Stay Cool.

FORE!!

I have a lot of stuff to post, so I might break this up into two posts ... I know you think that means one post followed by a several month break. You may be right.

The first event that I have in store was our trip to Kentucky for the Rolex. Despite the re-occurrence of our vacation jinx (car got broken into), the trip was pretty fun. Here is us killing some time while waiting for my parents to meet us after the break in.

We also had fun at the camp ground once we got there.

Another major event this spring has been Landon's first golf outing on a real golf course (if you can count Rolla's course as a real course).

He might have outlasted his mom if we could have played longer.

I'll leave you with super cool shot of Landon (just an unavoidable natural expression of my genetic legacy).

Till next time (when ever that might be).
Take care.

Easter

We had a big Easter this year. Landon got to take part in two hunts and an egg dying party.

My favorite picture of the whole thing:

From 2009_Easters

The first egg hunt was at day care. It was very rainy that day so they had the egg hunt in a relatively small play room with a dozen or so kids ... Vicki described it as chaos.

The next event was the egg dying party with a couple of his friends. Landon and Vicki were the only ones to make big messes (no surprises there). The kids made it through 4 1/2 of five dozen eggs which I thought was quite an accomplishment.

It was supposed to rain on Sunday (and it did) so we had our egg hunt party on a perfect Saturday. The day included two egg hunts (one real eggs and one plastic plastic eggs), a barbecue, some little Easter ducks, playing on an old boat and squirt guns (supplied by me, not sure if that was approved).

This is a great shot of Landon and his glamorous egg hunting friends:

3 is the new 2

I vowed to get the Birthday stuff out before the month was over and it looks like I'm going to make it ... which is a surprise to all (including me). So lets get this out of the way right at the top, the new 3 year old big boy:

From 3to4yrs

The party was a success. Landon picked out a tractor theme for his party and Vicki made a killer tractor cake:

In order to play with all the tractors Vicki made some big tractor play bins with potato flakes for "dirt":

Landon's friend Ava has a birthday 3 days after him, so the next weekend we got to live the party life again. Here are some shots from that big time Shrek throw down:

Thats it for now ... but I have more that don't fit the birthday theme so there might be another posting in the near future.

Bye.
